Chronic Neck stiffness and head pressure

I am completely we'll till dec 2016. I was doing heavy gym work outs till October. I noticed a lymph node accidently in my neck. Something is pulling my node. I had a CBC which showed WBC-12750. I felt tired. Gp put me on antibiotics. After couple of weeks my count came down to 11000. I started feeling somewhat good.

The main problem started after this. I started feeling head pressure and neck stiffness. It progreessed till feb15. I finally had cervical spine mri which showed the following:

1. Minimal loss of signal at cervical spine and slight loss of cervical lordosis

2. Posterior annular tear at c5-c6

3. Mild foraminal narrowing and facet joints show mild degenerative changes

4. Disc bulges at c5 c6 indenting thecal sac

5. Right pretracheal node is slightly enlarged measuring 11 mm and subcarinal is also prominent

The neck stiffness and mild headache drowsiness nausea and loss of apetite came following this. My neck never supports my head. It was difficult to make flexion and extension which causes head pressure. My shoulder also painful but it usually heals after getting up.

After a month I had a brain ct which came negative. smileBut my head pressure is not going away and my neck feels difficult to hold my head. I had a cbc again and chest x ray which came back normalsmile

Can spine problems cause wierd head sensations??

What should I do now??

I am a retired MD- I did anesthesia and pain management, so your problem is a bit out of my element, but when I read the first few lines of your inquiry I immediately honed in on the swollen lymph node in the neck and the high white blood cell count along with feeling fatigued, you need to rule out some sort of lymphoma(cancer) like Hodgkins. You don't say whether the node is still there or if the antibiotics got rid of it. It was still present on MRI.  That would be the most serious thing I can think of that should be ruled out early, you don't want to miss something like that.  But that would explain loss of apetite, nausea. I certainly don't want to worry you, and I pray I am wrong. But, better to be safe than sorry. Make sure that i am wrong and then look for other things as an explanation.  As I said in the beginning, this wasn't my specialty, but that's what jumped out at me when I read your post and I wanted to help.

I hope I am wrong as well because I had non-Hodgkins lymphoma in T5 and a couple of the symptoms were swollen lymph nodes and loss of appetite, and when I read the op it came to mind immediately.

Also had severe cold sweats, at night as well.  And terrible pain in shoulders and hips.

I don't remember suffering any nausea, either before or during the six months of chemo I went through.

Hope the op is tested for this and wish them good luck.

Besides the MRI, if the node is stil there yaswanth, could you make me feel better and get a biopsy of it too?  Then I will quit worrying over you for what is probably something else.
