Chronic pain for 3 years after LIS still undiagnosed

Hi,

I had LIS Surgery Nov 2019 after my chronic fissure wouldn't heal and an anal skin tag removed. I am still in chronic pain. it's not the same pain as my fissure pain,, but i wake up "ok" and after i go to the bathroom its like groundhog day. pain all day long until i go to bed. My skin tag is also slowly growing back and throughout the day seems to get inflamed and all i feel is a "bubble" in my butt like there is a string attached and someone is tugging on it. I also experience a lot if itching and burning I haven't been able to sit or work for over 3 years. I no longer leave my house anymore either. I can barely walk, bend, lift anything, I have tried Gabapentin (it didnt work). They want to do a nerve block, but im scared. they did a scope to see if there is another fissure or a fisula track. they didn't see anything. ive tried accupuncture, PT, flexeril, valium and biofeedback. nothing is helping. i am at UCSF and no one knows what's wrong with me. I think personally the pain might be due to the fissure scar? its a guess at this point. i am so frustrated and depressed! i don't recognize myself anymore. has anyone experienced this? does anyone know a good anal Fissure specialist? I have been denied from the Mayo clinic 3x. I just don't know what to do at this point. I also had my gallbladder removed in march 2020 which didnt help matters. Thank you

Sounds similar to what I've been experiencing. My surgery was over a year ago 3/21 and it's now 7/22. I finally decided to go back for a recheck. That's when the surgeon said I had developed a fistula. I went for a second opinion and that surgeon confirmed it. Now I'm looking at another surgery:/ Good thing I really like and trust my surgeons. Are you in Northern CA? I'm in Southern. So sorry you were denied. Why would Mayo deny you? Is it an insurance thing?
