I currently have CP as well as AP. I had a mri and they found a cyst. Is this more likely to lead to cancer?

You will probably have to have an EUS done with biopsy. I had this procedure done Jan this year and glad I did as I have 3 small cysts biopsy said noncancerous. So follow up with a good Gastro doctor who specializes in the pancreas. That's what I did. Good Luck

I had attempted to post a link to info on pancreatic cysts and it's relationship to cancer however, the site will not allow it.  In essence, most often cysts do not lead to cancer but there is a low chance.

Cancer can be held at arms length with antioxidants.

eat alot of colorfull fruits and veggies or just juice them.

People dont have to be destined to get cancer, cancer only happens when the amune system is compromised or the body is to toxic, that the toxicity turns into cancer or ther sickness.

You are asking the same question that I am wondering about...I just had an MRI as well and a cyst was found....it's a small one and for now the doc just wants to monitor it by repeating imaging tests every so often...but you know, waiting to see what it develops into is nerve wracking!  Did the doc say what type of cysts it is?  I'm waiting to hear back from mine what type it is....a pseudocyst doesn't lead to cancer and these can develop after an attack of AP or CP....but there are other cysts that look like a pseudocyst on imaging test that can be cancerous and those really need to be carefully evaluated by a specialist.  Get a copy of your medial records, including the MRI images and reports....

Jkristine had an excellent recommendation to be heeded by all of us.  Get copies of all your medical records, blood test, imaging reports, get it all.  I've got mine in a folder and carry to all doctor appts.  There is always something a doctor did not receive or was ordered by another physician and they need to see.
