Chronic Prostatitis

I'm new to this forum and Hello.

In December of 2018 I had successful surgery to remove a large kidney stone. My new young doctor recommended TURP surgery for my BPH. My regular urologist passed from cancer and this doctor was brought in to replace him. Unfortunately he only gets the OR on Tuesdays. I was on a Foley for 3 weeks until he got the OR because Christmas and New Year fell on that day.

He did the TURP surgery and told me he couldn't see everything because I was inflamed and needed to do another one in 2 weeks and the senior doctor in the practice was going to assist him....????

On a Foley for another 3 weeks, bleeding wouldn't stop. Finally stopped bleeding and needed to straight cath because I couldn't empty. Kept getting UTIs and would bleed on and off taking antibiotics. This went on for 3 years. Infections were so bad once I couldn't walk. Straight cathing was impossible for the pain.

Found a doctor while on vacation in Florida who put me on Bactrim and a Foley for 3 weeks. I was feeing great but still cathing 6 times a day. UTI and bleeding returned 6 weeks later. My doctor said "nothing I can do for you". "Your bladder just doesn't work.

Found a doctor at Yale and he determined I needed another TURP. 2 days later the Foley was removed and I have a strong stream and emptying but my saga continues.

I'm still bleeding occasionally with large clots with pain in penis. I'm being treated for non-bacterial prostatitis. I get up 12-14 times a night to pee and I'm exhausted.

So here's my question. Do they remove the prostate for conditions like mine?

Thanks
