Chronic sinus problems, with other symptoms, HELP!!!

Hi,

I've been struggling for almost a year with what seems to be chronic sinusitis(extreme sinus

headaches, blocked nose 24/7, sore throat, sinus pressure, post nasal drip yada yada) ,

but I also have other symptoms such as dry mouth and it feels like someone is chocking me out 24/7.

I have seen my doctor countless times (I should probably start paying rent I'm there so often),

been on heaps of anti-biotics, been through bottles of nasonex, had my tonsils out, had ct's of

my sinus's and seen my ENT who said their is no structural problems, seen an immunologist, I

apparently have no obvious allergies, used nasal irragators.....

All of this to no avail, someone out there must have an answer, I am only in my 20's and it's

ruining my life.

Any advice would be very welcome and appreciated,

Thanks.

To start would you mind telling us which test you have had. Saying the specialist says isn't all. You said you have no allergies, did you get a prick test or an IGe? Have you got copy of your scan?

I had a prick test, which didn't come up with anything conclusive, aside from the obvious initial histamine she put in my arm.

I do have a copy of my ct scan, I don't have the report though.

If I didn't answer your question correctly I apologize, I'm just a very frustrated medical lamen, so you'll have to bare with me.

I'm taking cefuroxime at the moment, I'm on my second course, to no avail, and nasonex.

      Thanks for your reply.

I think you should start from the beginning. I am as naive as you are on this and btw my sinuses fortunately were possible to track its source. I would start googleling your symptoms on  www.google.com/ncr , be aware this is the link to the American google. DO NOT USE the google.co.uk. As regard allergies if you can get an appointment back with the immunologist and ask for a test IgE it would be great. If the NHS refuses, go private but with an allergic clinic ( no kinesiology, no test IG4). In that test even if the cause is not in the panel test, they will be able to see the total of antibodies  what would allow us to see if there's a hidden allergy. The NHS can and probably will allow you to check with a second ENT, but on google USA search for sinus surgery and you'll get clinics from abroad showing different conditions to compare with your scan, not only polyps cause this, bigger than normal sinuses might cause a trend to infection. Finally get picky with the doctor and request other tests (It is his saying whichones) to rule out other conditions. Good luck and post back to see how it goes.
