Chronic sinusitis

Hi,

As other people in this forum, I have a chronic sinusitis for the last 5 years or so. Early on, I agreed to a minimally invasive surgery which turned out to be useless, scrubbed from frontal cavity and caused a ton of bleeding. That aside, I've been through countless round of antibiotics, visited many high ranking ENT doctors in New York where I live. Same response - slightly deviated septum, previous surgeon didn't a good job of opening the nasal passage, go for another surgery.

The condition is affecting my personal and professional life in ways I'd never imagine. Did anybody hear of revolutionary methods or can suggest alternatives - yoga breathing, red lamp, specific tests to take? I'm an atheist but this infection is testing my beliefs smile

Be grateful for any help,

Eugene

I have had chronic sinus disease for 15 years.  I will try the diet recommendations by the other follows.  I have come to accept that I will feel awful for the rest of my life, as it would appear that a very few of us actually go into remission from chronic sinus disease, with or without surgery etc.  There are so many causes for this disease process: viruses, fungi, bacteria, amalgam fillings and associated peridontal disease - cavitations - just for starters.

Start to think about any connection with SILENT ACID REFLUX. This is the key to many sinus issues. You need to change interior to alkaline rather than acid then. You do not need to totallychange diet, you can do this by taking a bicarbonate mixture regularly rather than go to such impractical and drastic measures.

      Hi Jason,

Only thing that helps me on a daily basis is Neilmed sinus rinse twice a day without it I would feel clogged .apart from that try seeing a good naturopath as modern doctors pretty much read off a text book but don't get down to why your having the problem

Hi Eugene !  I had the same symptoms as you !  Chronic sinus infections every 6 weeks to 2 1/2 months, took strong antibiotics and anti inflammatories !  Always ate well and exercised .  Nothing worked except this !  Compounded amphoteric B nasal spray !  I used it for 10 days, and for 3 days a giant green mucus monster came out of my nose ! Gross !   And presumably up there for 5 years ??   Holy hell !  Knock on wood I have t been sick since and it's been 5 months !!!  I lived in a house with a wet and moldy basement and that's what caused it !!

Trying seeing a good naturopath it has helped me. Haven't found a cure but it has helped with giving me vitamin a for the muccus membranes and horseradish and garlic for immunity as well as recommending I eat pineapple everyday which is good for sinuses as well as drinking Silver Collodial mineral for the staph infection in my sinuses .eugene if you read my profile / question I posted earlier I have been through hell also and my chronic rhinosinustis condition has effected me personal and at work with contact post Nasal drip coughing short was of breath and with my asthma.

So it's probably worth trying alternative remedies instead of rubbish long term antibiotics use which wrecks your stomach .

    Good luck mate

Hi Eugene, I had chronic sinus infections for 5 years after living in a moldy house.  No dr could help me figure out why.  I was persistent and one person led to another who led me the antifungal nasal spray - amphotericin B.   Need a script from a dr. I used it for 10 days..the first 3 days green slime came out of my nose.   That was 7 months ago and haven't been sick since (before the spray, I was getting sick every 8 weeks, to 12 weeks.   Clearly, the fungus was clinging to my sinuses and made me very sick.

What was left in its wake, is Sinus Mucosal Desease, inflammation from having an infection in my sinuses for so long. This causes constant and thick post nasal drip, day and night.  I just went to a Dr. In NYC -He perscribed me Clarinex in the am, Singulair at night, and a perscription compounded nasal spra (steroid spray).  What a difference!  its only been a week and wow, its working.  I wish i could tell everyone about my experience.

Regarding diet,  I am very very health concious, eat all natural food, and exercise. Now, I do agree that sugar may exasperate the problem, but it doesn't resolve it.
