Chronic Sinusitis after nasal fracture

Posted , 3 users are following.

Hi, I had a fall about a year back and fractured nose and some teeth. There is a dent in the side of the nasal bone where spectacles rest and a scar where there was a cut.

Ever since have had constant sinus pain and post nasal drip, dry throat and infections. My GP says I have to live with it as there is no cure. I have not been referred anywhere, although it is getting worse not better. Has anyone had any successful treatments? I take vitamins, minerals and have tried some herbal and also over the counter remedies, reflexology etc.

This regiment has been most helpful for chronic sinusitis. 1/16 a tsp of sea salt, a drop i no more tears baby shampoo, and six drops of grapefruitseed extract,( you may not be able to tolerate as many drops), in cooled boilded water in a nettie pot, do each nostril. This may eventually clear the infection comepletely. Take care, smile Dena

I would insist on seeing an ear, nose, and throat doctor if using the suggested sinus rinse doesn't work.

Update: Went back to GP as pain has increased. Again they will not refer me as they maintain there is nothing can be done with chronic sinusitis - even though I asked to be referred even to verify the diagnosis. So I'm wondering whether to change GP or will they be the same - seems our area has no budget - or just give in and spend on another private appt. I'm more concerned that the cause of my headaches might be something else. If a specialist tells me there is nothing can be done, fair enough. Meanwhile, i'm trying out all the suggested things and a few other things I have looked up.

Drs do not like us looking on the internet, but if they have nothing to offer, what on earth do they expect? I do not want to take painkillers every day and spend my life feeling like I have a terrible hangover all the time. Thanks for previous suggestions, you can be sure I'm trying them all out.
