Chronic Sinusitis since Dec 19,ongoing,anxiety is getting worse.

Hi,Is chronic sinusitis really this bad?I had a nasty cold type bug back in Dec 19,i always suffer with acute sinusitis so doctor gave me a course of antibiotics.I thought these had worked until a few days later i got worse.I thought it was tooth ache but it wasn't.Pain in my face, felt terrible.Went to the doctors who said it was nasal congestion.Tried nasal sprays and paracetamol and ibuprofen.Kept feeling bit better then worse..this is how i've gone on now since then.
I have pressure in my nose, eyes, teeth, gums, cackling in my ear. Most of this is on my right side.Face feels tender.I always feels really stuffy in my right nostril. My front teeth even feel weird now.
I had an ENT appointment in May but of course due to whats been happening that was cancelled.I now won't have an appointment until next year they tell me.
Do i go back to the doctors??After 5 rounds of antibiotics and no success i don't know if there is any point?
I do nasal irrigation twice a day along with Avamy nasal spray that has been prescribed on a repeat prescription. Some days are better than others,i'm just about coping. The new thing in all this is my front teeth feeling odd,and today my nostril on my left side feels painful.
My anxiety with all this is getting worse and i don't think this is helping at all.Probably making everything feel even worse.
Is anyone else experiencing anything like this? The thought of still having no answers in the next 6months is just making me feel so low. This is not a good place to be in.

I can feel your pain. After this years pollen allergy I was prescribed steroid spray. I feel headache on right side , sometimes headache or pain around head area and feels like I may fall down., nausea , visibility issues sometimes with eyes. Surprisingly I dont have any runny nose or no mucus so not sure how it could be sinusitis ? Now I see right side of nasal Turbunate ( those pea sized muscle mass you can see inside nose ) are sometimes getting stick to middle of nose which causing me Breathing difficulty.. Due to this I am getting pain around my chest as well.
I had Brain MRI 6 months ago and everything was perfect except little bit of sinus.

I don't have a runny nose with this either, just a stuffy nostril most of the time.
I thought it was my teeth at first but i've been to the dentist twice and had x-rays and they have assured me it isn't my teeth.
Your symptoms sound very miserable to Romal.I hope you find some relief.I have experienced dizziness, usually when my ear is cackling a lot.I have felt nauseous but i think that is due to worrying about whats wrong with me and getting worked up.
From all the information i have read over the months about sinus issues it sounds like they can be the cause of many things we wouldn't think possible.

My goodness Helen you are just explaining everything I am going through. I to suffer from Sinusitus and have had lots off bad ear infections which has led to perforated ear drums.
I havent had a bad bout for years. However 5 weeks ago I had a horrendous sore throat for a week. Alongside this I started getting pain in my jaws and teeth, earache and tingling in the face. All on the right side.
I to went the dentist first and it is not my teeth. After the sore throat passed I am still experiencing all the pains. I am also finding it hard to swallow. I to have days where I feel a bit better and then it starts ago. I am on my last day of antibiotics and today the pain in the jaw has started again. I also get a shooting pain in my right eye and stabbing in my forehead.
I am trying to carry on as normal but my anxiety levels are rising and finding it hard to do so.
I am going to contact the dr again on Monday.
So just wanted to let you know you are not alone e or going mad 😀

Hi Jen,
How are you feeling now?I do hope the doctor was helpful and didn't throw more antibiotics your way.I to ended up contacting my doctor again as my anxiety with it all was through the roof again and i was advised to consider some medication to control my anxiety while i am having to cope with no answers.I'm trying to carry on and not venture down that route, its not easy at all is it.Thank you so much for your kind words, you really do feel like you are going mad with it all sometimes as the pain can change daily so you think all sorts of things.
I to get the pain in my head and eye on my right side,it can linger all day sometimes and just drains you.
I do hope you are ok?
Do you do the nasal irrigation at all?I do it twice a day with salt and bicarb of soda.I think it helps.
I have never suffered so long with Sinusitis, acute a lot but not chronic like this has been, its miserable.
Let me know how you are doing. It helps to know we aren't alone in feeling like we are.Take Care.

hi all, same for me. waited a year for an ENT appointment, ended up in emerg the day of appointment, new one scheduled for jan 2021, if it even happens. All my symptoms are the same, all the treatments are the same, comes & goes. I know I am about to lose my smell & taste (sweet, salty, bitter, sour) when my EARs start to build fluid. At first i can feel them drain into my ear, can wake me out of a dead sleep! wet, no puss or anything weird, no wax build up, just fluid. when they don't drain that is when the hearing goes muffled, you feel like your ears need to pop, but they wont. i have also noticed get sweats & chills but no fever. well not until a few months of agony goes by & i begrudgingly go for yet another round of ABx. Which many that are rxed for this cause issues with ligaments & tendons with possibly of rupture with use, which i have strained many & i don't do anything. If i happen to get any answers myself, i will make sure to come back to this forum & let you all know. Crossing my fingers for ENT Jan 2021 to happen. My anxiety & depression have turned to "who gives a s**t, just let me go" attitude now... 2 years i have battling this now. started with a cold. oh forgot my facial swelling is to the point of almost not being able to open my eyes (lids are ridiculously swollen).
Wish everyone better health soon.

hello... I feel everyone's pain! well my journey has been long & totally could have been handled better. I have a sinus cyst & a polyp & mild inflammation in my left maxillary sinus. I am scheduled in early Sept. to scrape the swollen tissue & remove the cyst & polyp. I complained of sinus pain to a sinus specialist but was told inflammation isnt infection so sinus rinse & go see a dentist. I pulled 2 teeth. my cyst is sitting ontop of that extraction site. the polyp is near my nose & I have a lot of nasal pain & pressure. I have gone months without treatment & also been on many meds however I wonder if i was on the right med for the correct length of time if my swollen tissue would be gone. ENT's blame teeth & oral drs blame sinus. It is possible that the sinus is my issue due to the not properly treated inflammation. 2 ENTs do t think the inflammation is my issue. Anyway- I do sinus rinses & nothing comes out. My last CT scan was last month so i know its mild sinus. However I am sick to my stomach feeling like for a long long time I should have been on meds when I wasnt. I pray I do not have sinus damage. My nose is dry & tender. Had a crap load of nasoscopes. My left nostril is bad too & gets swollen in the back at times... I have a deviated Septum but no one is concerned. I feel you all very much. Counting down to surgery & wish it was tomorrow!

Hey,
This is all so miserable isn't it.
I have just been told my ENT appt will not be until next year with no date at all. With no answers its no wonder our anxiety levels are sky high is it.So many different pains on a daily basis is miserable.
Your face swelling sounds terrible.I sometimes have swelling but not to the point that i'm unable to open my eyes and my issues are all usually on my right side.
I do hope you are feeling better than you were?Keep me posted, its good to know we aren't alone, its often feels like it when we are having bad flare ups.
Take Care.
