My acid reflux caused terrible burning in the throat and hoarseness to the point where my voice was a whisper. My ENT doctor confirmed that it was acid reflux burning the throat.

Blessings and I hope you get better soon

I think it's from acid (especially if you wake with it in the morning). Instead of using the typical antacid meds (like PPI's, Zantac, and the like), you might try apple cider vinegar instead. The newer research suggests that acid reflux is more likely caused by pancreatic and liver insufficiency and potential (mild) malfunction. Apple cider vinegar can relieve these acid symptoms (and take care of many underlying issues) very quickly. I quit taking Protonix and Zantac about 4 months ago, and I'm doing much better with them. I use ACV instead about 3-4 times a week, usually 3 tablespoons mixed with a healthy amount of water. Hope this is helpful and that you get better soon. Note: If you have a peptic ulcer, it's better to not use ACV; if the ACV makes things worse, you'll know within a few minutes if there is an underlying ulcer issue.
