Ive had chronic itching and burning for almost 2 years now. have been on a ton of antibiotics and creams with no success. today a specialist said it could be Linchen Scerlosus. My symptoms are pretty in line with it, but i dont have white patches. Is it still possible its LS? thank you in advance! I'm desperate!

    Beverly,

Yes, someone on one of these threads, maybe about a week ago, or so, posted that she was having allergic type reactions to the steroids and her doc tried topical tacrolimus. Has not had any recurrence or flare up in the year or so since. I had no idea what it was, so did a few searches...Tacrolimus + LS + research and found just a few studies...and those that are out there are just a handful of patients. Mentioned to my husband who just happened to have had the experience with eczema on his face. Sent one of the studies to my Doc who proposed that we plan to introduce protopic in a few months.

The tacrolimus/protopic is topical, not oral...so an interesting approach.

Cutting back on sugar is good for anyone even if they are currently feeling no ill effects. Americans eat a ton of it. Not sure about other countries, but according to government statistics we consume 3 lbs (or 6 cups) a week!! If you feel you are at unhealthy levels just start cutting back a little at a time. I started years ago and don't even have sugar in the house. Of course, it's in foods that I eat, but I keep sweets to a minimum. Dark chocolate is my weakness, but a person has to have some vices.
