Cinnamon is a great spice, but ou have to get the right sort - 'true' cinnamon which comes from Sri Lanka. The stuff you get from most supermarkets is the cheaper cassia, OK but not as effective as the other stuff.

I have it on my porridge every morning along with raw honey and flax seeds. It's yummy and keeps my energy up for hours.

      Hi,

yes i read all about it, best to get the Sri Lankan. Cheaper one isnt so good for the liver by the sound of it, its amazing what mother nature can provide. Porridge is yum, and you have the right idea adding those to it.

I get mine online from a wholefood supplier. It's cheaper than the high street.

Im going to look in the health food store for the sri lankin cinnamon. I was surprised to read of the many benefits.  No wonder this spice has been used for thousands of years. Curcumin is also a good spice known as tumeric. I like to try different spices and natural remedies. Good luck

There is a school of thought that says that the 'gold' that the Wise Men brought was actually turmeric! It makes some sense. It was a highly valued spice even in those days and would have been a little easier to explain than a poor, refugee, Hebrew family carrying a lump of gold!

      Hi Bobbysgirl,

yes thats what i believe, spices are definately worth their weight in gold. All through the centuries people have known about the power of herbs and spices. Modern medicine isnt always the only way to treat illness!

love that name, and the song!
