Hi i came off citalapram cold turkey a while ago. Its hard it made me feel extremely dizzy nauseas up set stomach. I personally could not cope with it. If i was you but its your decision i would stay on them. The side effects lasted a good few months with me but after a while they all went and i never looked back until i thought it was time to come off them.

Well, staying on them isn't something everyone wants to do, neither do they need to. Also, when coming off this medication you should taper very slowly to ease the withdrawal symptoms (that it appears you have experienced) must have been hard.

I came off citalopram back in April 2019 and did it gradually, I never had any withdrawal symptoms and then was absolutely fine, back to my old self managing my anxiety well.

Then lockdown hit, it sent me spiralling so here I am again, back to taking them as I felt I couldn't manage my anxiety under such intense fear and restrictions so needed that help again. However, I will come off again when I feel ready too. Maybe in a year and confident I won't have any issues again as long as I follow my doctors guidance and the advice of the guys on here.
