    Hi Katie,

Sorry to hear your feeling this way.

You're going to feel worse before you start feeling better usually for the first 2-3 weeks

You need to persevere,it's worth it Katie.I've been on citalopram 20mg for 17 months for depression and I'm in a better place and it's great but it's been tough.I am now reducing my dose.

I take my tablet in a morning so you could try that instead of at night.

    Good luck Katie.

if you need anymore help or advice let me know.

    Take care,

    Sharon.x

But don't know if they will work or if ill be going through what I am now..

It wouldn't be so bad if I didn't feel sick and had a bad gut...

Looking a bit forward to work tomorrow just to keep my head going.. I just geel sorry for my boy I have no go in me..

Hi katie. I have been on Cit for about 4yrs, starting on 10mg, eventually up to 40mg. It did work for the mood swings, I still get them but not as often & they don't last as long when I do get them. Anxiety is also usually linked with depression & often needs a different med to combat it. I take Propanalol & it has worked very well & helped me to cope with some situations I would normally find very difficult.

You say you felt rotten in the morning after taking the Cit. How do you normally feel in the morning?

I took the cit for first time last night as I was told I shouldn't feel so bad.. But got stomachake, headake sickness and no go in me x

Katie, it could possibly be the effects of coming off your Paroxetine combined with taking the Citilopram. How quickly did you come off the Paroxetine?

Katie, difficult though it may be, you need to eat something, or drink milk, a slice of toast, something in your stomach. Not eating will only make it worse. I have had that problem in the past & still find it hard to eat first thing in the morning, but I force myself to. I make instant porridge & sometimes only eat a spoon full or 2. Avoid fruit & fruit juices. Bananas are ok, the sugars in bananas will help keep your blood sugar level. A big drop in blood sugar will cause dizziness & a general feeling of tiredness & unwell. I think that should be your first priority if you can, Katie.

Thank you for the kind words, Katie. Others were there for me when I was low. You don't have to talk about your health problems if you don't want to. I have problems with swollen feet & legs & have been told to lie with my feet at least level with my heart. Due to knee & hip trouble, I haven't been able to sleep in my bed since before Christmas, I have had to use a reclining chair every night. Only last week did I find I could lie down properly without pain & it has helped the swelling go down a little. It will take a few weeks though. I have had to wear sandals for 5 months. Just saying that some things take a little time, so persevere with the snacking, cream crackers are small enough to eat & should help soak up acid in the stomach that can cause all sorts of things uncomfortable.

I am glad to help if I can, I know some people don't understand these things so pretend they don't exist.

Aww lee I'm very sorry to hear this.. Hope you do feel beter.. It hard when ur at ur lowest... I suffer with very bad pms. Panic attacks and depression.. I've had depression for13 yrs never took meds. Had my boy 6 yrs ago. Finally when he was 1 I found someone, i felt better in my self, but. 2yrs on I found out some disturbing news, he was on a sex affenders list.. And that was the lowest I got. 3yrs on I'm still struggling and around 9 months ago I was ready to try something to help with my mood and feelings and that's when I was on paroxetine. And that was amazing. From where I was and not wanting to go out just be with my rock ( who is my son) I don't a pttl course so know I can teach and I've got a pat time job also that I've had for 4 weeks.

I don't mind talking about my health or mental problems as I wont people out there to know u can do anything even when u had loads poop happen to u...

And just for u to know I don't know anything about that guy just glad he put our lifes. thank u for opening up to me lee
