Citalopram 10mg Agoraphobia / Panic attacks

Hey!

so i thought i would share my experience with citalopram up to now! As i know there are MANY horror stories!

I've been struggling with anxiety & panic attacks all my life however they really started to take their toll in April. I became agoraphobic & avoided leaving the house. I tried my best to avoid medication as i felt ashamed. The stigma surrounding anti depressants is still very much a huge thing. i just threw them in a drawer for a full 5 weeks.

Day 1-6 where awful, i think day 4 was the worst. My anxiety was so heightened, I couldn’t bring myself down, couldn’t stand up without going dizzy, palpitations, sensitivity to light & noise felt like i was going insane ...you name it I could feel it. I really did feel like giving up. But I carried on taking them hoping something would change.

I was jittery, shaky and had an increase in sweating and insomnia up until about day 9. I am now on day 12 and I feel so much better. My anxiety isn’t as bad, my sleep is getting better & i can really see a light at the end of the tunnel for the first time in a LONG time.

I every drove my car for an hour and half today which last week would of been completely impossible.

Please bare with them, it’s hard, I get it. they might not work for everyone... But they do seem to be working for me.

(i also find taking them first thing in a morning helps with the insomnia)

Glad you're feeling better now. For me it took a couple months before I started feeling OK.
