Citalopram 10mg, Hot flashes, Increased anxiety????

I'm going on my 3rd week of being on 10 mg of citalopram and the first two weeks weren't bad at all, a couple side effects here and there but recently I've been getting hot flashes where it feels like my face is so so hot but it will pass not too long after. I also get super super anxious and worried for no reason and start panicking. I've read a lot of this forum, which isn't the best bc I don't wanna psych myself out and create more side effect but is this normal??? have any of you felt anything similar? would love to talk!!!

what were some of your bizarre side effects, just curious?? I have really bad health anxiety so I'm always interested in hearing how others feel so I don't end up overthinking every little feeling.

    Hi,

I've heard that in the first 4 weeks whilst tabs are settling into your system fully and body is adjusting it is normal for anxiety to feel worse. I started taking the tablets two weeks ago I took them for 9 days but needed to quit as was having severe side effects.

Hot flushes are a common side effect hopefully it'll die down for you , check with your doctor as it could carry on whilst taking the tablets.

      Hi,

No I don't mind sharing. My head was constantly throbbing, I couldn't stand up for too long as I went all dizzy and faint, severe nausea, my whole body was just shaking, temperature and stomach discomfort. I had no energy and I basically felt like my body was shutting down.

Before starting citalopram I was taking mirtazapine.. but I didnt get on with that so I had no gap in between taking citalopram by doctor just told me to switch so now I'm coming off both of them and have withdrawal side effects from both medications sad
