citalopram

My Husband took citalopram for depression, originally he started on 20mgs, but it didn't work, so he went up to 40mgs, it seemed to cure his depression, but he said he just didn't feel like himself & felt like he was behaving oddly (I didn't think he seemed odd), but he stopped taking it and ended up getting depressed again, he went back onto 20mgs + diazepam, but it didn't worked and he ended up being suicidal & had to be sectioned. Now he's in hospital and on something called mirtazapine, which seems to have horrible side effects. I think if you can make citalopram work for you it is better than the alternatives.

I am now on metazapine and it is working wonders for my mood but i seem strange to my friends. i have come to realise that every drug will have a side effect and it is a case of deciding which side effects you can live with for the benefits it provides - keep in mind that ur husband with gradually come off them and return to the man u knew before - stick by him, he is still there - just believe in him, it makes a world of difference.
