hi andre how long have you been on 40 mgs as most people start on a lower dose first this will help with what your asking . as iam also at 12 weeks but started on 10 mgs for 4 weeks 8 on 20 mgs . and from what i understand its 12 weeks from your increased dose it seems that way for me . it takes months to fully work and its a good sign you are seeing them improvements this early so there working they just need more time. if you change you will start all over again in the acute faze where it all gets heightened again . hope this helps alittle lloyd

And questions for you. Do you have the same symptoms? And after 3 months, you're not at the level you're looking for?
thanks again

hi andre yes i have same sort of symptoms funny head sensations that make me feel off balance like being on a boat . and feel like ive had a few to many beers. i get alot of tension in my neck and around my eyes . nausea and lack of energy were my legs feel like jelly and weak . and still get jittery and shaky more so in the mornings or if i push to do to much . but alot of people say the same on here it takes months for the citalopram to level in our brains . going straight on 40mgs is quite alot to start with it just needs time to calm down . . you may cause more problems for yourself if you keep swapping meds your brain and body will never level out. try and not focus on the symptoms and focus on your improvements which you have had its a good sign things are moving in the right direction . i will private message you some of the things i do to help keep going and keep your chin up lloyd

iam glad that you feel alittle better about things . the meds just need time to work and they are thats why we get side effects its our bodies and brains trying to balance out . and theres alot of things that get effected so it all has to calm down in our heightened nervous system as its very sensitive to every think on till we level out .doctors say it takes weeks this is not true for most it does take months for full recovery but better days on and off from the 12 week mark normally for most from what ive seen on here . so dont give up you have had better days thats a really good sign . and like i said before changing will only mess up what progress you have made and you will have to start all over again trust me you dont want that i did it and it really messed me up so iam just sticking to this and waiting till it levels . just private message if your having a day when you need someone to chat with take care and keep pushing we are all very strong people to battle through all of this not weak very strong! keep well andre lloyd

And i forgot to tell you that i've changed my meds in the last 7 months a few tines. I was on Effexor 75mg for the last 10 years following another anxiety problems in 2011. It was nit working anymore for this episode. My doctor change to Pristiq in June. After, he add Wellbutrin at the end of July (150 and after 300mg after one month). At the beginning of October, he changed Pristiq for Citalopram. And i continue Wellbutrin. I think that all these changes have messed up my brain and i pay the price presently. thus, you're totally right when you say not to change again....
