Hi just woundered if any one nows im cutting down from 20mg to 10 mg today i still have a lot of 20mg left i cut them in half would thst be ten i no this but just wanted to be sure thanks

    Hi Tracy,  Yes you sure can cut your 20’s in half.  If you have a pill cutter, that would work the best, because they are pretty accurate compared to us cutting with a knife. (the knife tends to make them crumble)  My doctors actually will order larger mg’s and I cut them in half, and this cuts the cost down for me and my co-pay!  It really helps me out on some of the expensive ones!  Most of my co-pays are really low, but I have a few that are high!  I say go for it!

    Yes its ok to cut the tablet up.  I always get 20mg tablets and I'm only on 5mg so cut mine into 1/4's (saves on the cost).

    Why are you reducing - are you struggling still? xxx

      Hi kate i went back to the doctors and told him i was haveing problems takeing them at night and that i felt better on the 10mg he said reduce them to 10mg started today i expect to feel strange for a whil the 20mg made me really tiered my memory is getting quite bad he said once i have reduced the tabs see how it goes if my memory doesent inprove go back and see him i am worried as i have been on tabs on and off since i was 17 i took traqalizers for ten year hope its nothing to worry about but now i have cut down hopefully should be ok in a couple of weeks thanks for your support kate

    They are cap lets right...do they have little ridge in the middle?  You should be able to break them in half.  Does your dr know you are doing this?

      Hi karen yes they have a ridge in the middle i told the doctor i felt better on the ten mg i was on them for ages till i had deppresion and he told me to increase to 20mg seem like i just got used to them now im on ten makeing me feel confused but it takes a while
