Citalopram and ADD meds?

Posted , 2 users are following.

So, I went to my doctor today and he said that he can see that I am doing much better then I was but he said that he thinks I have ADD as well, now that everything else has calmed down and I am unable to focus for long periods still. I have not been able to really focus my entire life so I guess I got used to it and lived with it. Well he wants to try me on either Wellbutrin or Strattera along with my celexa. Has anyone else taken meds for ADD while being on Celexa? If so what worked best? I know that I have anxiety issues which have calmed down A LOT since the celexa has really leveled off so he wants me to take a non stimulant not to irritate it more.

I'm really new to this and any type of treatments for it so any feedback or advice would be much appreciated!

Oh I totally agree, I mean, I'm sure not new to this stuff lol. But he did say from the sounds of it I've probably had this my entire life. My mother, brother, aunt all have it too so that makes it more likely genetically that I would. He said his goal as my doctor is to get me to feeling good all the time, not just ok most the time, and hes going to work with me on getting there. And now that the anxiety, panic attacks, depression are improving so well that we should work on the inability to concentrate and focus. He said its 100% up to me and what I'm comfortable with though.. He's been a really good doctor and seems to have my best interest in mind.

i would not take the wellbutrin .perhaps the other med.adding more antid.meds may spoil what good you are feeling right now.

I agree, and I definitely don't want that! I was just curious if anyone else in my situation was successful with taking one with celexa.

Ok thank you for the reassurance, I was hoping that someone would know about it. I am going to tell him definitely not trying that!
