Citalopram and Fluoxetine

Hi, I've been on Citalopram for 4 years ever since my divorce, everything was ok until I had a chest infection in March and since then I became really down and anxious.  I was given Buspirone for a short time which seemed to help with the anxiety but I was still in a low mood.  Wnet to my GP and she suggested switching to Fluoextine, so I have been on 40mg of Floexitine for the last three days and it may be my imagination but I think I feel slightly better, not back to normal by any means but a little better (I was on 40mg Citalapram) has anyone else switched tablets and what was your experience.

Thanks Carol

I'm terrified of changing over! Did you get any bad side effects when you changed?

Hi Cazzeraki, glad to hear you're feeling slightly better. I've recently changed meds for the third time and I've been told it can take 6 weeks for them to kick in so patience is key. I'm still waiting for an antidepressant that works for me but hopefully this one (venlafaxine) will do the trick. I hope your meds continue to make you feel better and better. Ben
