Citalopram anxiety intrusive thoughts low mood

Hi

first time here i am just looking for some advice really as i know everyone is diff.

so back in april i came over with awful panic and intrusive thoughts i was then put on 20mg fluox after feeling i wasnt seeing differance and getting worse it was upped to 40mg which when things got real bad the thoughts were so intense ive tried online CBT which hasnt done anything and now trying a intense CBT waiting for first app anyways a few weeks ago clear of all meds as i came off with docs agreeing i felt like i turned a corner. how i was wrong my mood was low and i just couldnt cope. today im now 22 days into 10mg of citalopram where at first i felt like i did see an improvment the past few days ive scene myself dip again and the intrusive thoughts are back and im chewed up i just feel like im

going round in cirlcles i cant seem to brakw

    hi caitlin everyone's case is different and its so hard to know what each person should do next but an option for you (if you want to continue with citalopram) is you could try 20mg of citalopram which tends to be the more standard adult dose, assuming you are an adult and also not elderly (some doctors will recommend 10mg for elderly people rather than 20mg)

    20mg may be what is needed to ease down your intrusive negative thoughts, along with some more time also, eg. a few weeks to a month, and then ongoing improvements often continue on from there as more time passes. perhaps discuss this with your doctor if this is something you want to try
