Citalopram & chest burning - advice please!!

Hi

Does anyone get terrible burning in their upper chest (hopefully heartburn)? as well as stomach burning. I had it all night last night and it's 2pm the next day and I've still got it. I'm two weeks in to taking the drug, never had heartburn before. Had a panic attack yesterday so wonder if it's linked? i've been prescribed lansoprazole but that's not helping. Thanks.

im on day 6 of celexa and have had a burning stomach and horrible heart burn all throughout my chest like you. its because this medication causes high anxiety at first which makes your stomach full of acid. what helped me so far is to make myself eat something bland and DO not throw up. (i threw up the first 4 days)

I was on citalopram for about 8 or 9 months. for a while it seemed to help me, but I had a lot of bad side effects as well. it caused me digestive issue after digestive issue. heartburn was definitely one of them. as a result I had x-rays, ultrasounds, bloodwork galore, upper and lower gi endoscopy. no significant finds on anything. my dr theorized that the meds weren't causing these side affects but rather anxiety was, to which I responded well then the meds aren't working. either way I came off the citalopram a bit over 3 months ago. last week I started taking cbd to try to ease all the affects of coming off citalopram. that was not necessarily a fun process.

I say all that to say this, I had never had acid reflux prior to citalopram and now if I forget to take a dose of omeprozale one day I definitely notice it. I have bad acid reflux to the point it feels like heart problems sometimes.
