Citalopram Diary - Feedback welcomed!

Hello all. So, i've had anxiety since the birth of my son almost 5 years ago, it is generalised anxiety and panic disorder. After i gave birth i was on Citalopram 20mg which worked a dream, i came off it very shortly after due to feeling better. Anyway not long after it went downhill again, my doc put me on fluoxetine and that worked great once it eventually kicked in at about 8-10 weeks. Fluox worked amazingly for 3ish years until the pandemic started and it seemed to poop out. Dr changed my meds instead of just increasing me, to Sertraline, i was on Sert for 16 weeks, it didnt improve me at all whilst i was taking it, just gave me diahrroea and made me very depressed towards the end. So, doc then puts me back on citalopram 20mg, and throughout this time ive always had propranolol for the 'as and when' i need them.

Week 1 and 2 of Citalopram - Typical side effects, insomnia, nausea, diahrroea, brain fog nothing too shocking but i remember that from the first time i took it. I did feel more upbeat than what i had been doing a few weeks prior on the sertraline which was very welcomed.

Week 3 - good, anxiety minimal, went out again, food shopping on my own etc etc

Week 4 - still good, making improvements, feeling happier and more motivated.

Week 5 - This is where it changes, i got a suspected ear infection and had to take Clarithromycin, the Clarithromycin knocked my mood massively, gave me raging anxiety, tremors, insomnia, nausea etc etc. I stopped taking the antibiotics early because i was an absolute wreck on them. Anyway, it's been 7 days since i stopped the antibiotics and i'm nearing week 6 of citalopram... My anxiety on a morning is TERRIBLE, tremors, nausea, brain fog, and some days out of the past week i feel really exhausted like i need to just close my eyes and nod off. Usually at around mid afternoon it starts easing and by evening i feel mostly okay again.

Anyone feel the same at around 5/6 weeks? I am seeing improvements but only in the evening at the moment. I will keep updating the page as and when i remember with my progress. Positive stories would also be welcomed. 😃 x
