Citalopram dose

Hi,

I have been on Citalopram since June 2023 for anxiety disorder, it was brought upon by me worrying about having a major bowel operation which was eventually carried out early October but just cant shake off this condition which often crippling.

I was on 20 mg up to November 3rd but my sleep has been very poor, and have what i think is brain and body zaps or panic attacks in the early hours. So i went down to 10 mg for 3 weeks it got rid of the zaps but still insomnia and mentally in a turmoil.

In this time and up to present day have also been taking 3.75 mg Zopliclone for insomnia which helps sometimes.

4 days ago increased dose to 15mg some parts of day i am feeling better but the brain and body zaps /panic attacks have returned.

Really distressed about this and dont know what to next. Have been meditating and started back to gym this week and have cbt therapy starting in January.

Is it just my body getting used to the higher dose that is causing this and will it eventually go away in time?

Please can someone help me?

what I know about this medication is that the minimum therapeutic dose is 20 mg so I think you should stick with 20 mg I have been taking it for 4 months now and still feel up and down. I hope it gets sorted for your you.
