Citalopram dosing. From 15mg to 20mg

Posted , 5 users are following.

I've been on Citalopram for nearly four months now. Very slow recovery but recovering nonetheless.

I have just upped to twenty mg after sticking with 15mg for a while (I'm so sensitive to meds)

I think I may have found the sweet spot for me fingers crossed.

Please don't give up people on this medication. I would never ever have stayed on it if it hadn't have been for the amazing people on these forums.

Hi, I am currently on week 8 and taking 20 mg of citroplan, this past week I can feel my old anxiety creeping back, which is a huge shock after feeling completely recovered.

I've started on 30 mg as of today, I'm so worried for the future incase I go back again

hi siobhan, dont worry as you have only been taking citalopram for 8 weeks, which is not a long time.  many people need 3-6 months to really get back on their feet and recover, so be patient and you will be just fine.  here i needed 6 months to fully recover!   luckily i feel great now and although it was a difficult 6 months,  it really was worth it and you end up with such an appreciation of the simple things in life again and appreciating little things like simply having your health back is something to celebrate smile

Hi Sun, I found your reply to siobhan interesting. I am at week 14 and having some fairly good evenings but feeling pretty Wretched the rest of the time. Mornings still anxious. Hopefull to me to hear that it took you about 6 months to fully recover. On the upside I have not taken anytime off work but some days are so difficult. I will continue to push thru though too many weeks in to give up!

      Thx Shane

het nice to hear Akens,  sounds like you could well be in the 'recovery complete!' phase, which is certainly a great feeling, and well worth waiting for, even if it takes several months!

Hi El, not feeling great today. Morning anxiety that kind of hung around all day. Just feel overall unwell. I expected more of an improvement at 15 weeks. However I am reluctant to change or up meds and have to endure a new round of side effects. Will likely hang in a while longer. I read here that some don't feel well until 6 months. I know what you mean by not knowing what to do. It is frustrating to say the least.

What are your worst symptoms right Now?

      Shane
