Citalopram for anxiety

Hi,

I am 40 and have just gone back on 10mg of citalopram for the third time because of anxiety. I came off for 6 months but things got too much at work and I relapsed. I really struggle with side effects, especially sleep when I start taking citalopram but I am now at the end of week 3 and am having some really difficult days, usually at the weekend and Sunday night / Monday morning, I guess because I don't have work to distract me at the weekend. Does anyone have some positive stories of things getting easier.

Hi. you are on a low dose and things get worse before they get better. you will level out and then possibly need to increase your dose. morning anxiety is awful and is at its highest level due to the cortisol in our body. give it time. it will get better x

The side effects of citalopram are horrific, I was absolutely ill for a month. I does get better eventually, and then things seem much brighter.
