Citalopram for intrusive thoughts

Posted , 3 users are following.

Been on 10mg citalopram for 3 weeks for awful intrusive thoughts and anxiety caused by being forced to abruptly stop zopiclone after several years when my old GP retired. Just wondered how long before people found it started making a difference. Tried CBT, various therapists nothing helped so hoping they work. Never had any symptoms before before stopping the zops gradually got worse since stopping in January, apparently withdrawal can take up to a year. Do feel my mood has lifted and though still getting them am coping slightly better so trying to stay on lower dose as feel needs bit longer to kick in and hope once got through withdrawal I can gradually stop them, as they appear to be very common in drug withdrawal..
