Mine caused by zopiclone withdrawal. just really scared they will never go away and be stuck in this loop for ever. think anxiety lifting bit . tried CBT and various therapists nothing helped. still very up and down did get bit worse since I had flu jab last week wondering if might be connected. just need some hope the meds will eventually help as nothing else has!

I have complex PTSD along with an anxiety disorder due to the loss of my daughter at her age 23 eight and a half years ago and the struggle with her mental illness in the last years of her life. I tried eight other antidepressants, side effects (rare) with each one. Psychiatrist put me on 5mg celexa, raised to 10, then to 15, now am on 20. I don't think I could have survived this past few months without this drug. I have a lot of hair loss, may or may not be associated, but I'd go bald before stopping this drug. Intrusive thoughts have lost 75% of their power, anxiety is reduced substantially, I don't cry all the time, I can laugh and enjoy the company of others for the first time. It might not work this way for everyone, but it's a miracle for me.

Good that it works for you. Psychologist thought mine was partly PTSD! husband had cardiac arrest at home nearly lost him 3 years ago, then neices'S husband got rare cancer and died at 45, so spent nearly year hospital visiting. How long before the meds started working for you, the intrusive thoughts still there I've been taking them 6weeks. make me feel bit nauseous at times and headachey but nothing serious. Good to hear they helped you

My intrusive thoughts are definitely PTSD from a life changing horrible loss, my only child, my daughter, eight years ago. I was tormented day and night, the Celexa stopped it almost immediately and now it's under control. The thoughts are still there, hard to explain, but something comes "up" in my head, like a wall, to protect me. My psychiatrist reports other patients have said this also. I've tried everything else, this is the only one I can tolerate. Nausea and headache can also be anxiety, Celexa is good for that too. Stick with it and see what happens.

I'll carry on not really helped lot yet but gather normally takes several weeks to kick in. Could well be anxiety, got very toxic mother maybe zopiclone helped me cope with her. I always feel tired, mainly because wake early, do get some sleep but normally only about 5 hours. Just ordered book recommended by Katycogs so hopefully will start improving soon. Can't imagine what you went through, you've done well to come out the other side.
