I was wondering if anyone elses Dr has pescribed them 20mg Of citalopram for pre menstrual tension or pre menstrual dysforic disorder?

I have been on them for a while now 1yr + i have noticed a difference well .... a HUGE difference if im honest i feel human again! but i seem to be having some un wanted side effects that i have never had before.

The one thats annoying me the most is being forgetful/fuzzy headed.

but i also get nausea, loss of libido, and a few others which are minor. anyone else have this?

    Hi,

yes to all of your questions, I have brain fog, nausea and loss of libio......however it is not a permenant feature tho- stick with it, or seek to gradually reduce your meds under supervision??

    Hi,

I have been on it for 4 weeks.............and i hope these side effects will disappear. Im still not feeling great and my mood most days are very low. Lucky if I get a good day per week. Trying my best to get back to work, but that's were all my anxiety stemmed from-work related stress!!!

When I first started on citalopram I had dizzy spells a little insomnia up and down appetite and up and down moods but my doctor said to keep with it and give it 3-4 months to be in my system properly and for my serotonin levels to even out as the meds had made my natural levels fluctuate.

My drs were right and it did even out and the dizzy spells and insomnia stopped appetite took a little longer to get back to normal though

I don't know what you have tried in the past in regards to anxiety but have you tried breathing exercises or some meditation or relaxation techniques?

A personal diary for you ? So you can figure out what triggers your anxiety so you can combat it by using the above?

By using a diary you will be able to see what helps you and what doesn't too. I hope that made sense!
