hi all, ive been on citalopram in the past for PnD & it worked well, ive now been suffering high anxiety, ocd intrusive thoughts for about 10 weeks due to hormonal fluctuations in perimenopause. i was prescribed 10 mg & had some slight relief after 10 days, went to doctors at 14 days & they upped me to 20 mg , last 3 days its like ive gone backward & feel more anxious again, the doctor i saw said 10 mg would only work on mild anxiety. should i perservere on the 20 or go back down to 10, ? dont know what to do. i was on 30 many years ago, but that was depression more than anxiety . would appreciate your advice

i dont understand why doctors dont give the lowest dose a chance to work first!!! youre bound to feel worse on 20mg initially as its start up symptoms but possibly 10mg would of worked for you as these are strong drugs x

You could go either way, but personally I'd hang on with the 10mg for a couple more weeks before deciding.
