Citalopram or anxiety.

hi all

been on citalopram for anxiety and depression since jan upped to 20mgs 3 months ago i have felt better last few days but last week or so im having missed / skipped / thumping heartbeats all the time esp when im lying down ! im

starting to worry as i feel so calm and relaxed now but still having this thing with my heart all the time

is it anxiety / meds or something else 

    its palpitations it can be a side effect of the med. orbit could be your dose is too high x dont worry as they aren't dangerous just uncomfortable. other things can cause them too.

    talk to your gp to see if they can prescribe you a low dose beta blocker to help x if you are doing well on the meds try not to muck about with them too much because I'm in living hell right now after switching and changing meds 🙄

      hey toria. sertraline nearly destroyed me if I'm honest 10 weeks and just kept getting worse so now back on my original next week. hope you're doing well yourself x

      switched to sertraline but it was really bad for me. didn't agree with me at all

      I switched from citalopram to sertraline and my god it's been tough x coming off the sertraline now as it just wasnt helping. if anything it made me a lot worse x

      yes p, but think im definately at the peak now it always hits me late x

      i have had citalopram in the past & always worked for me, usually needing a high dose & always takes 3 or more months to work. in April after being off meds for about a year, they prescribed setraline instead, i was on it for 5 weeks & have never felt so bad in my life, i was told it gets worse before better, but it sent me crazy, thought i was going crazy, have never experienced anything like it, it was like poison to me. Thankfully im now stabalising on citalopram after 15 weeks, much improved, but still the odd setback.

      oh god ive been there with the sertraline ! i feel for you ! i think i nearly went psychotic changing !! hope your feeling better soon x

    i get those heart thumps and palps.here and there is definitely the cit.nothing to worry about
