Most side effects you experience in the beginning of treatment on any antidepressant should settle down the longer you take the medication, either after several weeks or months. Not all do though eg. sexual dysfunction, weight gain/loss and others. You have to keep taking it and hopefully most will improve, although everyone is different and each person will have their own experience. With these type of medications you have to always weigh up the pros and cons of taking it, but give the medication time before making decisions. Citalopram is no different.
