Don't stop without talking to a doctor.

If you do stop then be prepared for a period of experiencing withdrawal (some call them "discontinuation") symptoms - you've probably just got a glimpse of what to expect e.g. increased anxiety.

Also, if you do stop you may want to consider reducing slowly to minimise the impact of withdrawal.

iagree with everything Charlie says I was made go cold turkey off zopiclone by GP and been a nightmare so not advisable. Did try randomly missing some days and got what they call interdose withdrawal. Definitely talk to your GP! I've stopped citalopram 2 weeks ago as made me feel awful while on it, has been very up and down but have read acute symptoms normally subsided in 5-6 weeks. Everyone is different but you've been on it quite long time so doing gradually is best.

Talk to your doctor before you stop using it. The withdraws can be strong.
