Citalopram - Sertraline hopeful story that started with many negatives!

4 week update.

4 weeks ago I changed from Citalopram to Sertraline 50mg.

Citalopram wasn't helping my anxiety enough but increasing the dose to 20mg just didn't suit me at all as I am sensitive to medication in general. (This is not a negative about Citalopram, it works for many and worked for me a few years back)

The worst side effects were heightened anxiety, muscle twitching and hypnic jerks when falling to sleep. I had nights where every time I nodded off I would jerk awake. Looking back I think I did well to keep going!

Gradually my anxiety has lessened and so have these side effects. My appetite is back big style and I feel so much better. I am sleeping straight through the night again.

I hope things carry on going this way for me now.

I just wanted to a) give people hope and b) remind people how strong these medications are and how you really do have to push through the side effects to get to the good bit!

Thanks so much for these comments. l too am very sensitive to medication . Still early days for me (2 weeks on 25 and just over I week on 50). l think the nausea has subsided a bit but still struggling with feelings of disorientation and anxiety which are not pleasant. Thanks again for taking the time to give people like me hope.
