Citalopram tapering and hunger

Hi everyone,

it's been a while since I've posted on this forum! I've been on citalopram for a year and a half almost, and last month following a discussion with my doctor, I decided I'm in a good place right now in life and ready to start tapering my dosage gradually. The aim is to stay on 20mg for a number of months before dropping down further. I'm into the fourth week, and the last few days I have been SO hungry. My appetite has been normal whilst being on citalopram so it's not a case of my appetite 'coming back.' Has anyone else experienced this? Other than constantly raiding the kitchen cupboards, I have felt fine lol.

    Hi Star

I have been reducing and my appetite has picked up and I have put weight back on, so you are not the only one eating yourself out of house and home lol. So long as that's the only symptom you are getting that's great, I could live with that 👍.
