Citalopram / Trazodone 3 months Face hurts

Hi everyone
After 1 month of citalopram my face really started to hurt (above and under eyes, cheeks, temples) never had anything like this before. It's really excruciating... I had every side effect possible, so i thought this would also resolve but i'm having this 2 months non stop, can barely do anything because of the pain. They keep blaming it that it is because of ptsd, burnout,... But I never had anything like this. I'm really thinking the meds have something to do with it... Hoping anyone else also experienced anything like this... Solution....
Thanks a lot

Hi,sounds like what I was experiencing when I was feeling extreme stress and anxiety, nothing to do with any medication.. I was waking at 4.00am,a favourite time of my brain when the Cortisol kicks in with anxiety, with the beginning of what felt like a migraine but was an extreme chronic tension headache. Instead of the pain being over the head and neck,it would be all over my face as you described. Forehead, eyes etc,and would be in agony all the following day. Couldn't go to work on days it happened, then finally went on long term sick. The heightened anxiety from the Citalopram alongside your already bad anxiety is causing it with you. It is the terrible situation we find ourselves in when taking antidepressants for anxiety, when they make us worse for months. Because of this I quit my job.

Yes it is the anxiety and stress running in the background. Lots of people say they felt normal then Bam! out of nowhere comes a panic attack. We can be thinking we're OK while ignoring the little signs of stress over time like a dripping tap until the bucket becomes full and overflows. People do not become ill over night. It's a very slow process sometimes to becoming ill, consequently recovery is also very slow. Yes the antidepressants work over time, very slowly depending on how severe you are when you start taking them. Obviously the more severe, the longer it will take. Have no experience of Trazodone, but that also increases serotonin. I don't like to take more than one med because you don't know which one is doing what if you have bad side effects.
