Citalopram - waking up with a feeling of dread

Hi everyone,

I have been diagnosed with general anxiety disorder in September 2020. My psychiatrist put me on Citalopram, 10mg a day and I've been on it since end of September, so around 4 months. I initially experienced the usual side effects (increased anxiety, loss of appetite, etc) but they subsided after a few weeks and my anxiety got a lot better & I'm very happy with Citalopram. However, I have decided to switch from taking it in the evening to the morning (due to its effect on my libido, and I found that the effect is more intense during the few hours right after I've taken my dose, so preferred to take it in the morning) I made the switch from 8pm to 11am gradually over two weeks, and been taking it at 11am now for a few days and intend to continue to do so. However, I have since then started to wake up with an intense feeling of dread and anxiety, which fades in time. But that first hour after waking up is just horrible, I was wondering if someone else has had a similar experience and if this is to be expected. Will this eventually fade after my body's used to the new time?

Thank you!!
