Been on 20mg for 4 and a half months and Doc says it's time for a change ( it's a long story)
Went straight down to 10mg and mentioned my concern to Doc but she says it will be cool......
Thing is that was 5 days ago when i changed down to 10mg and today I feel like someone has just given me half a dozen amphetamine pills for breakfast.....heellllllllllpppp. How long can I expect this mess?
Been in bed all day with nerves!

Hi,
you are experiencing withdrawal.
Everyone reacts different. Doctors and many people say that because you have only been on a short time that you should have no problem. That is not the case with everyone. I have only been on cit for 5 months before i started reducing and have been hit with nasty withdrawal. 5 weeks later and im still not stabilized enough to continue going down. i would suggest checking out surviving antidepressants or a facebook group as they can give you more info on how to safely get off.
take care.

if you go back to 20 and dtabilize again, then go to 15 and stay there til your brain settles. Then go to 10mg. Always remember to decrease very dlowly and don't rush it. These meds work very very slowly. Each reduction may take you 5-6 weeks to settle there before reducing further. Withdrawals are horrible.

The step down from 20 to 10 was manageable (ish) and I thought the step down from 10 to 5 would be easier but it don't feel like that yesterday and today...this is about day 4 of 10mg to 5mg step down prog
Am I imagining it?

no you're not.
everyone is different and its recommended to taper down very slowly. I went from 7.5 to 6.1 and 8 weeks later still struggling.
are you going to a different med? or just off?
