hi all just an update on my previous posts seen the neph on thursday  i told her that my doctors had told me i had ckd3 she wasnt very happy as she says she doesnt know whats wrong with my kidneys as yet she says the gps have put this down on my records as a generalisation when they havent even diagnosed anything yet ive now got to have a biopsy done proberly wiithin 2 weeks  im panicing about this  my blood pressure is still high and shes now increased my dose another 5mg im on 20mg now 10 amoldipine and 10 ramipril  ive also on the morning of the biopsy got to take a diazapam tablet she says this is to calm me down as she knows im terrified  she says by taking this my bp should be okay for the biopsy to be carried out  she says that i have inflammation in my kidneys but thats all they know so far been going since beginning of jan she says biopsy should tell them whats wrong she seems to think bp could be causing problem  any one else had inflammation of kidneys and if so what happened also can anyone share what happened at there biopsys   thanks

    Ian, CKD3 itself is usually little to be concerned about.......as long as whatever your eGFR reading is remains stable and isn't on a downward spiral.  It is true that uncontrolled high blood pressure can have an impact on kidney function if my experience is anything to go by.  If you have "inflammation in your kidneys", then obviously you need expert advice.  It seems that you are being closely monitored, so just sit tight until the biopsy has been carried out and, although I know it's easy to say try not to worry but it's vital the you do relax or your blood pressure will remain high.  Meanwhile, drink plenty of water and avoid salt.  Good luck.

    Totally agree with Mrs O if you get yourself in too much of a state and your BP is too high they will refuse to do the biopsy due to the risk of bleeding that is already there.  This will only prelong everything as they will send you home and make you another appointment and you will have to go through it all again. Think nice thoughts and breath deap breaths smile
