Claithromycin

I have been takin this anti-biotic for h-polori, after the second day the side effect were the worse i have ever experienced, the bad taste, muscle cramps, severe dioreah, and i was very sick. after ringing the chemist i have deciced not to continue, as i was in bed for a day. i think the side effects should be fully explained by ur gp, so i will be returning to my doctor for any alternative medication. :cry:

    Yes theres terrible cramps :? Metronidazole is far better smile

    I've had this awful sickness with both amoxicillin and metronidazole in the triple therapy they give for h. pylori, though I've taken all of the medicines involved separately in the past for other infections with no problem. if you find a treatment therapy that works, please let me know. I think a lot of people get these awful side effects from the massive doses involved in triple therapy, but all the doctor says is it is the only thing that will kill h. pylori off and to try to finish the course - I can't get past the 3rd day, I just want to die I feel so ill then.

    I've taken them all on numerous occasions, I've found the best way to take the pills is with food, take them half way through the meal, however you should still expect to feel a bit nauseous smile
