Clarification on genital health

Hello all, i went to my doctors 3 weeks ago and told him i think i had balantitis. i was tested for everything but he did not swab me because he told me what he saw did not resemble herpes. i had the usual symptoms of balantitis, swelling irritation, rash etc. The glans swelling went away but the rash on my foreskin persists and the skin folds sometimes look like bumps and get into my head so ive been terribly stressed and cannot focus on anything other than this. because of my negative tests i have engaged in oral sex so im thinking this couldve caused further irritation

Hi Zack, most of genitals problems are actually skin problems and very hard to diagnose. We want answers so much, it's hard to accept that there is no diagnosis because there's no pathology. If you were negative, you don't have any disease. You have to trust their your doctors opinion. You're skin is just irritated and the wrong ointment can sometimes make it worst. Once damaged, the skin on genitals takes longer to heal. Dermatitis can take up to 4 weeks. A good unperfumed moisturiser and a little hydrocortisone usually do the job. You need to give it time and you might practice abstinence for a while to give it a chance. I understand your anxiety but remember that it's just a skin irritation... stress probably makes it worst than it is.
