Has anyone had the cleft lift procedure for a pilonidal cyst? A local doctore recommended that procedure for my son and I'd love to hear about other's experiences with it.

I heard that it is one of the most succesful treatments for this annoying problem. Just make sure you choose a surgeon who is experienced with it. Check out the Pilonidal support forums here: https://www.pilonidal.org/xfforums/index.php
Many there agree that either open excision or cleft lift is the best treatment and a lot say that cleft lift is likely the best option, though the recovery time can take a while. They can suggest on those Pilonidal forums the best specialists to visit.
