Clenching Teeth and tight mouth

Hi All

I’m on Setraline 50mg, back on now for 9 weeks after trying to withdraw.

Has anyone else experienced bad teeth clenching? I’ve got a couple of relatively new teeth implants but all of my mouth feels uncomfortable. I’ve cut my tongue just to add to my woes, I had a breakdown in December 2017. I have tinnitus which has worsened with Sert. I can’t withdraw again, think that caused the breakdown, but feel so trapped by all of this.

The depression has improved and the anxiety is a little better. Bruxism can be caused by anxiety but I don’t think it’s just that!

Any feedback would be great, thank you.

    Hi

I'm still grinding my teeth after 17 weeks and I can't stop

      Thanks John

Another joy from Sert! I think mine is made worse by anxiety and it’s really uncomfortable.

Yes, my face and my jaw has been hurting for weeks now. I thought it was me tensing up. Somebody said to get a gum shield to release pressure. X x x

      Thanks Rachael

I have a mouthguard for night time but I constantly work my mouth during the day and evening.

Who would have thought a few small tablets could have so many side effects!

I know, they should warn you. I have been on them 7 weeks now. 6 weeks on 50mg and 75 now. First couple of weeks were nightmare. Thought I was cracking up. Do the gum shield help at night? Everybody says that in time things will get better. They say it take time to work. So I think we have to ride it out. I hope so. X x x

It’s stll difficult I know, we mustn’t lose hope. That’s quite challenging though. The night guard really helps, you might want to consider having one. Off to get it now 🌸

I got a gum shield from the dentist before I started on setraline as I'm wearing my teeth out but only wear it at bed time

Yes, me too. I can’t sleep without it now but daytime wear is not a good option!!!
