Clicking

Hi all, I am sure someone mentioned this before but can't find the post. I've noticed the last couple of nights that my knee clicks when I try to turn over. Is this common? It is a little sore when it happens but not very very painful

Hi Carol. I am 8 wks post op and sometimes when I Bend my operated knee it clicks. It doesn't hurt as such, but is slightly uncomfortable. It also does the same as yours. It is a weird sensation and is actually the thought of the joint clicking that makes me feel worse. Not sure if this is normal though. I am seeing my GP soon so will mention it to her. Take care xx

hi carol, yes my knee does that from time to time. if i think about it, it must have something to do with the ligaments and muscles not being as taught as they eventually will be so the new knee has more room to move around, even if it is only an itsy bitsy teeny bit. by all means, ask your specialist, she will give you a qualified answer! it doesn't worry me for the time being, but would definitely be a problem after a couple of months. am only at 3.5 weeks :-)

yes mine clicks too . ive had both my knees done and when i asked the surgeon why it did this he told me it was normal ,and if it didnt the new knee would be wrong , apparently you should have movement in it , when i walk i feel this click in both knees and think every one can hear me ,but i dont think they can its in my bones lol.

    Hi Carol,

im 16 days post-op now and my knee clicks every time I roll over too.

it also clicks when I have it elevated, sitting in my recliner and move to one side or the other.

i find it strangely reassuring to know that something inside it is moving freely after so long with the osteo making so stiff. That's probably just me being me.

i do feel it click when I'm walking sometimes too but it doesn't feel too painful.

That's just how I  find it.. We're just a day or two apart so it's reassuring to be experiencing similar happenings.

its really strange how things come together ,and we all have the same things happening at simalar times , i did find the clicking very strange at first and found it horrid to hear when i was moving around and thought other people could hear it too ,but they cant , i also find neeling strange too . i can put my weight on both knees but not move , and again it feels strange and that i think is either the numbness or the new knee ( the metal bits ) i keep telling my self that the strange feelings are like when you lose a tooth as a kid ,you get used to it , so were all normal lol x
