Welcome to the Click 'n Clunk Club! Sometimes I think it was my hip. So I'd walk stiff kneed to isolate the sound. Yep, hip, not knee. A good thing. It doesn't really hurt just feels and sounds weird. I'm 7 months PO R-tkr. Some days it seems worse than others. I guess that's just our life now. Better than the arthritis pain before.

Granny Maureen (my birth name is Maureen too), Melinda summed it up with her welcome to the Click 'n Clunk Club! It's the little things that most of us weren't told about that can really freak us out. I'm 22 months post op from a bilateral TKR and I now have no more clicking noise. I'm not sure I remember when it went away, but yours should too at some time. I never asked if others could hear it, wondered if the fact that it was in our body that we were more aware of it.

Morning - I'm 22 wks post op and didnt have this until 4 wks ago. Not a click nor a clunk but I can feel my knee catching rolling and making a noise.
I am told by other TKR groups and people that this is common and should go away eventually - some say around the 12 month mark.
Irritating I know!

And my Dr said the clicking may never go away. Which is not a big issue. But it IS weird to feel it. I'm just about a year out from surgery.

Sounds like your knee is locking.
If I were u, I would speak to the Surgeon about this. Don't go on like this as it may end up more serious.

Hi Maureen... I'm nearly 11mths po r-tkr and sometimes I hear a click not painful and I actually don't feel it just hear it. It's not quite as bad as it used to be but I have heard that it's very common and can last for a certain time or can last forever. As my surgeon said every knee is different and recovers different .. I know there's someone on here that calls himself 'click clack' as he's had both knees done sometime ago and when he walks both make a noise. If it's just noise I wouldn't be worried about it .. but if it continues and you need some reassurance no harm in discussing it with your surgeon.
Remember you're only 2wks po so it's still such early days when recovery can be 12-18+mths just depending on the individual knee.
Take care... Tracey
