Clicking, popping, pain when walking

i am 10 weeks post total knee replacement. ROM is 130 flex and -1 straightening.

i am not pleased with all of the thunking, popping and clicking my knee is doing when I walk. I have been asked if it hurts when it thunks. my knee feels like it is sprained therefore the popping resonates pain with each step. How common is this? Does it ever go away? Appreciate thoughts.

Hi Mike,I am 5 months post op and my knee pops and clunks especially when I use the stairs. My consultant said it was to do with a plastic disc behind the patella to ease movement ,I find it quite disconcerting as I also have soreness and pain at the front of the knee (patella area) both going up and down the stairs. The OA pain I had before my op has gone completely however so walking is a dream!I'm hoping the patella pain and popping will ease with time, fingers crossed.

I am 9 weeks post bilateral tkr. One knee is more successful than the other so far in terms of ROM, extension, pain and swelling. And that is the knee that carries on like yours with walking. The bad one is quiet! It seems as though it may be a sign that all is well and healing nicely. I have read that one learns to ignore it in time, and it lessens as things settle down long term.
