Clicky 'locked' hip pre-op

Hi, did any of you hippies (or soon to be hippies) suffer with a clicky hip or gotten into a position where it feels like your leg has locked & you can't move? This happens to me when I'm sitting on the loo (& I don't mean for any considerable time)! It's almost scary to try & move as you feel like it's going to 'pop' out x

I think the best way to describe is as you hip deteriates the bone wears away and leaves a knarled surface, sometimes sharp and spur like.  This is defo the pain I get it feels like a dagger going into my groin until the opposing bone gets over the spur.  I thought I was the only one who got this pain until I visited here and had come to my own conclusion on why this was happening.  Sorry I don't have the 'professional names for this' other than a very big ouch! rolleyes

Oh god yes, usually when I was out walking, then when it happened I couldn't walk, couldn't move the pain was so bad.  Used to have to phone hubby to come and pick me up, the times when he couldn't, I had to wait a while and try and force myself, many a tear shed. Wouldn't wish it on anyone.

I'm 3 weeks now and no arthritis pain is bliss, just the op pain to contend with, which isn't too bad.

Yes Lynn, I can relate to that.  I was out shopping once when it happened and I didn't know how I was going to get back to my car, luckily I managed to work it free.  If it happened at home, I found that if I laid on the floor with both knees bent, counted 1, 2, 3 and quickly sraightened my legs to the floor everything seemed to re-align.  Hurt like hell but only for a moment.

How does your operation pain feel?  Mine is mostly stiffness in the joint and soreness around the incision.  None of that horrible arthritis pain.

Ouch, suppose that's one way to do it.

Feels tight where the scar is, still have niggly pains, last bad ones were the trip to the hospital.Stiffness for me too, but have doubled exercises now and not walking too far.
