Climbing stairs after spinal fusion

I am having a spinal fusion in 2 months. I live on the 3rd floor and have to climb 4 flights of stairs 6 steps per flight. that is my only option I cant afford a hotel. My surgery is out patient. I have been practicing going up the stairs as shown on U tube and once I am up will not have to go back down for several weeks. I have gotten so many mixed messages online about this. My question is can I climb that amount of stairs right after surgery without doing any damage to my back? I will have a brace on, hand rails, and my husband to help.
