Clinical trials?

Hi all,
I had seen on an older post that someone mentioned drugs in development and I got excited, so I went on the FDA website and found that there were 4 trials going on for LS. Two were drug trials with steroid cream and 2 were more impact of LS on women's lives (duh). Very disappointing...I was hoping for some different therapies that what we have now.
I would love to know how you can get a trial started or accelerated. I would say that this a very serious condition...as my friend said, "if this were a man's disease, there would be a cure by now" (don't mean to downplay it - I know some men get it too, but I did think it was funny). Thoughts?

If we are going to treat this as the Autoimmune disease that it is, then we need to find out WHY we are getting it, WHERE is the weak link in our immune system and HOW can we fix that weak link to “cure”, and prevent any other autoimmune diseases or other medical ailments from occurring.
The adage “ you are what you eat” seems to be true, but in this modern age we must also add “ you are also what you are exposed to in your environment”
Only then can we hope to find not just a treatments for the disease, but how to eradicate it!

I think you’re right Karen . It all boils down to what toxins we put in and breathe into our bodies . But what can be done about the breathing in ? We can stop using aerosols and cleaning products in our own homes but cannot stop air pollution 😒

The fact that we are all familiar with psoriasis which has been around forever leads me to believe medical science doesn't have much of a handle on preventing autoimmune diseases. In general western medicine treats diseases with drugs, they don't focus on prevention in general...other than vaccines.
Speaking of vaccines, does everyone know there is a more effective shingles vaccine now? In the US it can only be given at pharmacies (must be a weird deal pharma made with medicare) and you need a doctor's order. I have to check with my HMO as they probably don't cover it. I have had the old vaccine and eventually got a very mild case of it so even that works.
Am sure if they could come up with autoimmune vaccines we would all be lining up!
