Clinical trials on Fibromyalgia and flu injections.

I have read that Fibromyalgia is similar to Gulf War Syndrome.

This was due to troops being overloaded with too many vaccinations.

Could this be the missing link?

I have had bad reactions to my last two flu injections, but not over the past 10 years.

I have tried to find out more on studies done in the past in Isreal,I cannot put up the link sadly.

But there is no result of the study done in 2011.

I googled influenza injection link to Fibromyalgia and the site came up.

What does anyone else think?

Hi Moyra. I'm newly diagnosed but find this so interesting. I had a terrible reaction to flue vaccine October 2013 and refused one last winter. Its been since then I have got all the fibro symptoms and have just been diagnosed. I have been telling people its been since then but not been taken seriously

      Hi Debbie,

I am waiting for more replies to my comments.

I am now beginning to believe this has an important link....I started flu injections in 1998 and by 2000 I had to take earlyy retirement at 50 from being an air hostess. Now in my job I was given a concoction of injections each year, including yellow fever.Although this may not have had anything to do with my fibro,I do believe there is a link to flu injections.

I am doing some research online now....and I have read pregnant women receive a milder version of the influenza injection, never new there was any available. Also i read that older people like myself get a stronger version!

All this is new to me, I did not know about the different strengths, I thought it was just one strength.

I am still wondering why the clinical trials done in 2011 do not show the results....the WHO makes so much money from Flu injections would they like the info to come out...if it shows there is a link??

All my years of research I have never came up with multiple vaccinations..hmmm..very interesting..however one gets Fibromyalgia because there has been a shock or trauma to the system..usually the symptoms which are very different and many of them..start one at a time and it just feels like you have whatever the symptoms seems to mimic something or other when your at the doctors, then time goes on your still got ill feelings then pow....it all comes on top of you.....I have been diagnosed for over 22 years now but I know I had it for years before that..i did have a major trauma in my life...and this is what the Rhumotologist told me...had brought it on...mmm...I've always wondered why some people who almost live life with trauma and shock daily never get it????  But it certainly makes sense to me that people who have been in war situations where they have suffered horrific shock/traumas would be candidates..never thought of that before..your into something huge there Moyra..hope you pursue it...with heaps of support...be blessed..have a great day..x:-) xxx

Moyra, like you I didn't realise the different strengths either. I had mine in 2013 for COPD and will never have it again. I beleive what  ever is found to have links will be brushed away as like you say the money that is made will always be foremost. I have always been a active person running my own business and now I can barely get through normal daily tasks. I wish I never had that jab as I truly believe the link. I have come across  Fibro UK site on Facebook with lot's of people saying the same thing so will try and post for you to see x

Hi, I had a bad reaction to a flu injection about 25 yrs ago, i had flu so badly I lost my sense of smell for 18 months afterwards, so I havent had a flu jab for 25 yrs and started with fibro 2 yrs ago, so I dont think there is a link for me, I also didnt have a trauma or operation before it started, but i did have a great deal of stress.
